Sona Jaytyan

MFT Trainee

Sona Jaytyan is a Marriage and Family Therapy Trainee at Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. Sona earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Child and Adolescent Development from California State University, Northridge, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University.

Sona has experience working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital, where she worked with individuals experiencing severe and debilitating mental health concerns, including depression, Bipolar I Disorder, and psychotic disorders. Throughout her training with this population, she has grounded her therapeutic approach in a humanistic and integrative lens, incorporating evidence-based behavioral approaches, particularly Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to help clients develop practical skills for managing intense emotions, navigating distress, and coping with the symptoms associated with severe mental health conditions.

At All For One, Sona is particularly interested in working with individuals and couples from marginalized communities. She incorporates person-centered, emotionally focused, systemic, and multicultural perspectives into her work to support clients in processing trauma, exploring cultural identity development, and navigating relational concerns. Sona believes that therapy is a collaborative process and that no two clients are the same. As such, she tailors her therapeutic approach to meet each client where they are and provide support that reflects their unique needs, experiences, and goals.
