Anna Grigorian-Routon

Dr. Anna Grigorian-Routon holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University. Dr. Grigorian-Routon has broad experience working in mental health settings, having worked at several school districts, counseling centers, and agencies in Southern California, providing school-based counseling services, neuropsychological assessment, and psychotherapy. The focus of her clinical work and research is on children, parents, and teachers. Dr. Grigorian-Routon has developed and executed bullying-prevention and mental health-focused programming geared toward elementary and middle-school students and their parents. She has also led mindfulness-based parenting groups. Dr. Grigorian-Routon’s focus is working with children and she utilizes developmentally-based play therapy interventions. Dr. Grigorian-Routon approaches therapy from an integrative perspective while drawing heavily from client-centered/humanistic theories with a particular emphasis on culturally responsive treatment.
Dr. Grigorian-Routon is currently an Associate Professor of Psychology and serves as Co-Director of Clinical Training for the MS Counseling Psychology program at California Baptist University. Dr. Grigorian-Routon is also the current president of the Armenian American Mental Health Assoication and is passionate about promoting and destigmatizing mental health treatment.
